Alright lads and lassies,
This Is Collective are busy working away on Life’s no picnic on the Streets 2011 – a collaborative project with service users in three of Depaul Ireland’s centres, Cloverhill and Mater Dei family services in Belfast and Tús Nua Centre on the North Circular Road in Dublin. We have been working with service users on the concept of safety and security and how this connects to weather (good and bad). To do this, we have been manipulating and re-fashioning umbrellas with panels made in the workshops that reflect participants’ ideas of safety and security, but also insecurity and danger.
Workshops are just finished and went amazingly well, with lots of input and engagement from the service users. Now the five of us are going to bring together all the work done in each of the three centres and amalgamate it into a large, interactive structure for Electric Picnic. Click here for more information on the project from depaul’s website.
Check out the LNPOTS 2011 tab up above for photos of the workshops and images of the work in progress to follow soon!!
Here is one to get the ball rolling – Messing around with three massive parasols in Susans sunny garden!
